Saving Homes Saving Neighborhoods
We are launching a campaign in West Oak Lane and Southwest Philadelphia to help homeowners who are behind paying mortgages and are worried about their future.
The campaign is called "Saving Homes Saving Neighborhoods." The goal is to help people in financial trouble avoid foreclosure and save money by having better options for their home financing, and improve their general financial management.
The campaign addresses the impact of predatory lenders head-on by working at the neighborhood level and going door-to-door to provide easy access to advice, counseling and good loans.
Activities
Local Outreach Workers will be in the communities - canvassing door-to-door and also engaging in other local activities. They will promote the program and help people connect to it.
Neighborhood Resource Specialists will meet with homeowners one-on-one to help people find better options to their mortgages and be a support for overall financial health and management to avoid predatory alternatives.
