ASAP/After School Activities Partnerships

ASAP is a catalyst to rally the greater Philadelphia community to increase safe, supervised after-school recreation activities for young people in the city.  Organizes new after schools clubs; recruits volunteers to help existing programs, serves as a clearinghouse for information with a published directory of citywide recreation programs and an evening hotline.

Black Alliance for Educational Options

Philadelphia chapter of the national organization.  Serves as the voice of Philadelphia parents, students, educators, and community leaders whose mission is to actively support parental choice to empower families and increase quality educational options for black children.  Activities include a private school scholarship program, workshops, and a quarterly newsletter.

PHILADELPHIA READS helps to strengthen the literacy skills of Philadelphia’s youngest and neediest school children. Teenshop Inc.

A weekend youth development organization for girl students, ages 13 to 18, who are not teen parents. Offers an innovative series of workshops, field trips, community service projects, and college tours. Workshops include Money Matters, Social Graces, and Health and Fitness. Four chapters are located in Philadelphia.

Work-Stream Educational Options Program

Reconnects high school students to the School District of Philadelphia's Twilight Program to complete their education at John Bartram or University City High School. 

Eligibility
17-21 years of age, need 10 credits towards graduation.  Additional paperwork from Philadelphia Youth Network is required.
