Economic
Development Projects
Works in partnership
with project developers, owners, construction firms and universities
to help them award contracts to Minority, Women and Disabled
Business Enterprises, and to successfully employ females and
minorities. Also prepares community residents for construction
jobs in their own neighborhoods and throughout the region.
Work with developers is fee-for-service. Eligibility varies
for Construction Orientation classes.

Business Builder Loan Program
Developed by the Small Business
Lending Task Force of GPUAC as a pilot lending initiative to
increase the flow of capital to small businesses located
in low- and moderate-income and /or predominately minority
communities in the City of Philadelphia. Provides
a pathway for small businesses with higher credit risks
to obtain bank financing. Loans can be used
for working capital, inventory, equipment purchase or capital
improvements.

Philadelphia
Development Partnership (PDP)
Provides small loans, peer support and mentoring, business
skills training, business counseling, credit building and
networking opportunities to low income microentrepreneurs
and the self-employed in low and moderate income neighborhoods
of the Greater Philadelphia Metropolitan region. PDP operates
Pennsylvania's only peer group-lending program, called Community
Capital Works. Services and loans are available to any
micro entrepreneur. PDP has offices in Philadelphia and the
City of Chester.
