This Week's Web Tip from the Freedom Rings Partnership
Did you know that using the internet can actually save you money? Sure you may grumble when having to pay your internet bill, but with just a few simple online tools you may be able to recoup some of that money or more! The internet has many resources that allow you to find out information about a product before buying, including reading reviews and comparing prices. Here are two of the many resources available: and allow you to find coupons that you can use online or in person when grocery shopping, clothes shopping, etc.

Price comparison sites like or allow you to find the lowest price on an item by searching multiple retailers. Sometimes you can find a better price for an item online rather than in a store. Just make sure you watch out for high shipping costs!

About the Freedom Rings Partnership
Currently 41 percent of Philadelphia residents do not have Internet access. To respond to this desperate need, UAC is leading the Freedom Rings Partnership, a multi-year initiative to bring Internet access, training, and technology to residents in underserved communities. Freedom Rings Partners will also provide hands-on training to at least 15,000 people at over 130 locations citywide, including 77 public computer centers, and distribute 5,000 netbooks to public housing residents who complete technology skills training. Training locations include recreation centers, health and social service organizations, workforce development agencies, and select nonprofits. There will also be 4 mobile computer labs that will travel throughout the City providing Internet access and training to underserved communities. For more information visit or call 311
