Organization mission: To bring capital to communities by building bridges between low- and moderate-income people and mainstream financial institutions. Services offered: Financial education, home repair loans, support for community-based lending institutions, foreclosure prevention and employer-assisted housing.

Brief history of organization: CED began as the coordinating arm of the innovative Philadelphia Mortgage Plan in the 1970’s through which over 65,000 people became first time homeowners. The heart of the program is the CED Committee which is a collaboration of over 15 banks, 3 bank regulatory agencies, 20 community organizations and five intermediary organizations. The CED Committee studies current issues in community development and creates partnerships to help address the issues.

Hours of operation: 9:00-5:00 Monday-Friday.
