With support from Citibank, the Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC), provided financial education to Germantown and Mt. Airy residents under its Financial Advancement Network (FAN) Clubs. FAN Clubs empower and teach Philadelphians how to improve their money management habits and pursue their financial goals. Each FAN Club meets for six sessions and focuses on a variety of topics including saving for tuition, improving credit scores, paying off debts, and many more! This summer Citibank helped support the launch of seven FAN Clubs allowing 46 residents to participate and graduate from the program.

Earlier this month, the graduates celebrated their financial accomplishments with a special celebration hosted by Germantown Life Enrichment Center. Speakers included Donald Haskin, Pennsylvania state director, Citi Community Development, Citigroup; Afia McKinley, vice president, Germantown branch, Citibank; Carey Morgan, program manager, Financial Empowerment Centers, City of Philadelphia; Don Kelly, director, Community & Economic Development Department, Urban Affairs Coalition and Shayna Lear, program manager, Financial Education, Community & Economic Development Department, Urban Affairs Coalition.

Congratulations to all of the graduates!
