 Seeking Philadelphia Businesses: Non-Profit, For-Profit, Public or Social Service Agencies to Provide Summer Jobs and Internships for Youth

 If you are tired of saying “NO” to youth who deserve a “YES,” then stop right now! Commit to supporting the next generation of workforce talent by becoming a worksite for Philadelphia youth this summer.

 There is no cost to you! Wages are graciously paid to youth interns by the citywide funder of Summer WorkReady, the Philadelphia Youth Network. We need both social services/nonprofit and for-profit/private sector employers. Call us now to support youth who deserve a chance or their first break. We are waiting to hear from you!

  • Download the Employer Worksite Agreement at www.uac.org/youthemployment
  • Complete and sign a Worksite Agreement with the Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC).
  • Provide UAC with a brief description of the duties that the youth will be required to perform at your worksite.
  • Be eager to work with and mentor youth and young adults ages 14-21!

About SummerWork Ready 2013

UAC’s Youth Division offers paid summer job opportunities to youth and young adults ages 14-21 that provide career exposure, resume and interview preparation, wardrobe-outfitting services, on-the-job mentoring, 21st century workforce skills training and a practical understanding of the working world.  The Summer WorkReady 2013 Program begins Monday, July 1st and ends Friday, August 9th, 2013. Typically, youth work 20 hours per week for six weeks to expose them to core 21st century skills necessary to compete in the new global economy. The average total in wages earned by summer interns over the 6 week period is $870.
