CED Testifies at City Council

On June 6th, Don Kelly, Director of UAC's Community and Economic Development (CED) department testified before Philadelphia City Council in support of the City's Year 38 Proposed Consolidated Plan. The Plan represents the Office of Housing and Community Development's activities. Since 2003, the Plan has included funding for anti-predatory lending, which supports most of the operational costs of running CED's PHIL-Plus and Mini-PHIL Home Improvement Loan ProgramsRead testimony

The program also supports the Campaign for Working Families and their free tax services to low- and moderate-income City residents. Through this service, citizens can make the most of what tax credit and benefits may be available to them while avoiding predatory tax refund lenders.
