2014 WALK Against Hate

May 16, 2014
This Sunday UAC will join the Anti-Defamation League for their 4th Annual 5K WALK Against Hate! Imagine WALKing along Martin Luther King Drive with your UAC family, friends and Partners with one common goal: WALKing Against Hate and celebrating diversity! People around the world, including here in Philadelphia, are suffering from the injustices of prejudice. The struggle to protect civil rights for all has made great strides in the last few decades, but we are not finished yet! Everyone can think of at least one injustice they experienced in their lifetime, and we need to keep fighting to eliminate prejudice and racism. The WALK is kid-friendly and will feature activities to keep everyone entertained! There will be a diversity expo with resources from more than 20 local nonprofit organizations including LBGT equality, immigration services, culture, ethnicity and more. There will also be a multicultural entertainment concert, Aztec Dancers, and student activities, including balloon animals and face-painting. Light refreshments and snacks are free and will be available to registered event participants. Bring your family and friends! This is an opportunity for both youth and adults to join UAC in declaring that there is no place for hate here in Philadelphia. Date: Sunday, May 18th Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Location: Martin Luther King Drive (West River Drive)
