About GPUAC
The Greater Philadelphia
Urban Affairs Coalition (GPUAC) brings together business and community
leaders to solve urban problems, operate programs, and support
an array of government and private sector-sponsored initiatives
to help the disadvantaged and working poor of the Metropolitan
Philadelphia region. GPUAC's programs provide a wide range of
services in the following areas: Economic and Business Development;
Workforce Development; Health; Neighborhood and Community Services
and Education. Visit our website at www.gpuac.org.
Education, Children
and Youth Committee
GPUAC's Education, Children
and Youth Committee (ECY) brings together a diverse group of stakeholders
to improve the quality of education in the City of Philadelphia.
ECY identifies the opportunities
charter schools represent, the barriers they confront, and what
can be done to help them succeed throughout Pennsylvania.
This work began in 1997 when GPUAC hosted the City's first public
forum on charter schools.
