Home Improvement

Looking For Money To Repair Your Home?

Since 2002, the Urban Affairs Coalition worked with the City of Philadelphia and community lenders to offer flexible loans for eligible borrowers to repair their homes, make necessary improvements, and even consolidate debt.

As of July 31st, 2017, the Mini-PHIL-Plus Home Improvement Loan Program has ended. Please refer to the other home repair options through the City of Philadelphia's Division of Housing & Community Development: http://www.phila.gov/dhcd/home-repair/

What Is Mini-PHIL-Plus?

The Mini-PHIL-Plus Home Improvement Repayment Program are two separate low-interest loan products (Mini-PHIL and PHIL-Plus) managed by CED to help Philadelphia homeowners improve, modify, or repair their homes. Currently, only the Mini-PHIL Program is accepting applications for loans from $1,000 - $15,000. Additionally, up to half of the loan can be used to pay off existing debt.

The Urban Affairs Coalition’s Community and Economic Development (CED) department believes every homeowner should be able to live safely and comfortably in their home, while also promoting healthy neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia.

CED partners with Citizens Bank to distribute the loan, and works closely with over 20 nonprofit housing counseling agencies throughout the city to provide free assistance with the application referral.
